FTV Player
About FTV Player
france.tv access – a subsidiary of the France Televisions group, with ISO 9001 standard processes, has been committed to research and development since 2013. The French broadcaster is the leader in TV subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing in France: a first video player, labeled AccessiWeb Silver, was launched in early 2014.
In 2017, france.tv access invented the FTV Player, the result of a project initiated 4 years ago. This unique, innovative, multiaccessible video player, available under a free license, allows people with disabilities, whether they are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, with physical disabilities, to access the meaning of any type of video content distributed on the Web.
Beyond the handicap, the FTV Player benefits all users from all over the world whose access to videos is hindered or specific: for example, in mobile or tablet mode, in disturbing sound environments, in situations of limited or failing internet connectivity, in case of barrier or language difficulties, for offline use etc.
The FTV expertise in subtitling video content on the web today meets the expectations and challenges of many clients from the world of education, training, international groups as well as public institutions of higher education and research, cultural institutions, associations, and so on.
