Sub-project 05

Objective : Sub-project 5 generates LSF from an intermediate representation called AZee:

• Two translation systems and animation generation will use this representation as a pivot;
• A 3D player able to display video content in French Sign Language by animating a virtual signer (avatar).

The strength of the AZee intermediate representation is to reflect the multilinear character of LSF by linking form and meaning.

Under the responsibility of the LIMSI academic laboratory, the LSF corpora collected in the 2^nd module are analyzed according to this “LSF representation” in order to design a translation system, allowing the transition from a French statement to an LSF representation, and on the other hand a generation system, allowing the translation of this LSF representation into signs.  This 5^th sub-project will be entirely guided by user recommendations.
