Sub-project 07

Objective : Using a LIVING LAB approach, in particular when it comes to users’ concerns, this 7^th module is aiming, under the responsibility of the EPHE and the Lutin Userlab, to anticipate the success of the project’s developments, considering that the final product must first be useful, acceptable, accessible, learnable and usable.

It is important, from the user experience point of view (UX), to determine throughout the project what kind of audiences may have an interest in the use of ROSETTA accessibility and to see to what extent certain “types of programs” could represent characteristics for certain types of accessibility.    

This work will, among other things, define the way in which automatic transformation makes the information accessible from:

• speech-to-text to captioning and multilingual subtitling (from French to English, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and Portuguese),
• the French Sign Language interpreter to the generation of virtual signer.

All the tasks in sub-project 7, carried out by the subcontractor HC in close collaboration with the Lutin Userlab/EPHE and the project partners, result in a quadruple approach:

• The preparatory phase integrating the partners’ decision axes within the project;
• An approach to accessibility typologies and programs or videos with an incremental input in the development phases;
• Brainstorming, focus groups and in situ user testing with relevant experts and users on the usability of ROSETTA innovations;
• A comparative study (benchmark) on an international level.
